4/6--The Yankees had a couple of rallies, to beat the Tigers, 6-5. The Yankees scored 2 in the 1st and 3 in the 3rd. Alex Rodriguez hit a solo HR (#1) in the 8th for an insurance run. Albert Pujols had 3 hits (1 2B). Tigers LF Alex Gordon hit 2 HR (#1 & #2) and CF Dexter Fowler was 0 for 5. Tigers P Rick Porcello took a pounding--7 1/3 IP, 8 H, 5 R/ER, 2 BB, 9 SO. David Phelps made his 1st career start for the Yankees. With this being a day game after a night game, 2B Derek Jeter was given the day off and Corban Joseph collected his 1st career hit, in his major league debut.

The win could be very costly, as RF Giancarlo Stanton had to leave the game, due to an undisclosed injury.

record: 3-2, T2nd (with Rays & Red Sox), 1 GB behind Orioles

ATM--The Mets lost, so there are no more undefeated teams. Giants P Tim Lincecum pitched a SHO against the Cardinals.
