The Rockies just continue to win as they went 16-10 in the month of July although it was nerve racking for a little while. The Rockies farm system is stacked toward the bottom but at the AAA level they do not have any major league ready pitchers so when SP Drew Pomeranz went down for 4 weeks with elbow inflammation they drew a collective breath. Instead of a weak spot in the rotation the Rockies promoted 26 year old SP Will Bateman who was the Rockies first round pick in 2013 but has tailed off on his abilities but he showed he could handle it as in 3 starts he went 3-0 with a 2.59 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. Also promoted to replace the demoted Jhan Marinez who has a 6+ ERA this season was RP Jose Suarez the Rockies 2nd round pick in 2015. Suarez had pitched 18 innings in AAA with a 2.95 ERA.
