Regular Season in Review
October 3rd, 2017

Final Record - W - 91 / L - 65

It was a good year for the Colorado Rockies, they did not get 100 wins like last season or meet the expectation of 101 wins either but they get a pass as at one point this season they had 1 of their original 5 starters due to injuries and trades. Offensively the team was lead by SS Troy Tulowitzki who led the team in HR, RBI and OPS. The Rockies though have 2 key players injured heading to the playoffs, RF Jorge Soler is still out for 2 weeks and C Stryker Trahan is expected to be out 3 weeks so if they get to the World Series he may be able to come back. Let's take a look at the stats for the team's players as we do every year. A new feature though will highlight some stats that we do not normally cover as well as some of the players that were in the chase for league stat leaders.
  • 2B Marco Hernandez led the NL in Average @ .351, OBP @ .414, WAR @ 6.7, Doubles with 50. He also led the league in hits by far with 215, the 2nd place player was teammate Tulo with 183.
  • SS Troy Tulowitzki led the NL in HR's with 39 and in Total Bases with 336.
  • CF Jose Soto led the NL in Runs Scored with 110, teammates Marco Hernandez and Troy Tulowitzki finished 2nd and 3rd with 106 and 101 respectively.
  • Despite his higher ERA SP Jose Fernandez, due to his innings pitched and strikeouts led the league in WAR among pitchers @ 7.3
  • Rookie Catcher Stryker Trahan threw out 32.8% of runners this season
