NLCS - Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves
Game 1 - Colorado Wins 4-1 Colorado SP Jose Fernandez got the ball in game 1 of the NLCS and he spun a gem as he pitched 8 innings giving up just 1 run on 6 hits. Meanwhile of offense LF Yasukazu Tsuchiya continued his tear in the postseason he hit his 4th home run and is hitting .588 in 4 games.
Games 2 - Colorado wins 6-5
The Rockies offense got off to a late start in this one as they finally came alive in the 6th inning, down 3-0 they managed to score 4 runs and chase Atlanta SP Michael Wagner from the game. The Braves struck back though with 2 in the bottom of the 6th to retake the lead 6-5. The Rockies would get 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning off of RP Joe Thatcher. Rex Brother pitched a perfect ninth for his 4th save of the preseason.
Game 3 - Colorado wins 4-1
Rookie SP Bryant Reed who had a rough outing in his first postseason game turned it around for game 3 as he went 8 innings while giving up 1 run on just 3 hits and striking out 10. He could have gone longer as he only threw 93 pitches but they wanted him to rest for his next game. On offense the Rockies got another home run (#5) from Yasuzaka Tsuchiya this time a 2 run bomb.
Game 4 - Colorado wins 7-6
Game 4 was an exciting one but also a rough one for the Rockies, they came away with the win thanks to a 5 run 6th inning including a 3 run HR from 1B Anthony Rizzo. The downside for the Rockies was SP Wilmer Font, he gave up 4 runs in 4.2 innings before leaving the game with an injury that will force him to miss the World Series.
The Rockies though are headed to their 3rd straight World Series where they will face the Detroit Tigers who were able to come back from a 3 games to 1 deficit in the ALCS to defeat the Yankees 4 games to 3.
