The Colorado Rockies had a good month of May going 16-10 but the Padres were better going 18-8 and jumping from last place in the division to first. The National League West so far this spring has been a doffight. All 5 teams have winning records right now with the Padres, Rockies and Dodgers all within 2 games of each other at the top.
In other Rockies news a surprising story has come out about 26 year old SP Jose Fernandez of the Rockies... or is he 26? Earlier this month rumors started to swirl that he may have lied about his age when he signed his first professional contract. He was drafted at the age of 18 by the Miami Marlins in 2011 but the truth may be that he is actually older than people have been led to believe. At this point though it doesn't make a big difference as the pitcher is still young one way or another and is doing well in his career. He has an overall career record of 80-56 with a 4.03 ERA.
