W - 35 / L - 15 / 2 Game Lead

Some of you might be wondering who the player in the old time cracker jack style card is. That ladies and gentlemen is Babe Adams of the 1920 Pittsburgh Pirates. Why would we lead into this story with his playing card? Last season Rockies
SP Evan Anderson in his 1st full season in the majors led the big leagues in K/BB ratio, this year he is absolutely blowing them away. Anderson is 4-1 on the season with a 3.97 ERA but the amazing statistics we want to point out is this, Anderson has pitched 65.2 innings this season with 76 strikeouts good for 5th in the league but in those 65.2 innings he has issued 3.....
3 WALKS!!. Anderson has a 0.41 BB/9 ratio and a 25.33 K/BB ratio, the next closest player? Teammate Jose Fernandez @ 8.11 K/BB. Now for as to why we showed Babe Adams... he owns the major league record for least walks in a season (per 250 innings) @ 18 walks in a season back in 1920.
With other intriguing the National League West is by far the best division in the big leagues right now as the division looks like this currently:
Rockies - 35-15
Diamondbacks - 33-17
Dodgers - 32-18
Giants - 22-28
Padres - 22-28
In other news during the month the Rockies had 2 players go on the DL with injuries, both of them Relievers. Felix Encarnacion and Jack Jackson went on the DL. Encarnacion has returned to the team while Jackson was sent back down to AAA when his stint was done. This move was done as the Rockies moved rookie SP Bill Scott to the bullpen after some stamina issues started to show in his game, in his place the Rockies promoted SP Carlos Peterson from AAA.
One last piece of news for the Rockies was a trade made this month. The Rockies sent RP Robert Whalen who had a 5.81 ERA this season to the Toronto Blue Jays for 21 year old minor league RP Bill Crawford. Crawford had a 3.29 ERA in AA for the Blue Jays.
