Ken O'Dea - catcher for the Cardinals 1942-46
Blix Donnelly - pitcher for the Cardinals 1944-46
Johnny Grodzicki - pitcher for the Cardinals in 1941 & 1946-47. His career was interrupted by four years of military service (1942-45). He served as a paratrooper in the 17th Airborne. On March 29, 1945, Grodzicki sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs fighting in Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart and required surgery and extensive rehabilitation to resume his baseball career after the war's end.
