on too baseball

Well i have now spent 3 years with the Cru and we have shown marked improvement each year as we have slowly built our team at the MLB Level from within and with some key aquisitions in the trade market.

2015: Our first year in the lou was rough as it should be with a expansion team. We went 47 - 97 with the scrubs we picked up of the scrap heap and a few decent players we were lucky enough to get in the expansion draft. Our future will be the young studs we got this year in the draft, and in a special IFA round held back in the offseason. The best of those are Jon Brewer, a stud hitter/solid 2b and our first overall pick in the draft, Eric Braun, the future ace of our staff who started his career in AA and finished the season at AAA. He has 3 good to great pitches, good stamina, with the one knock being he is a little fragile. Pete White was the big bat get of the IFA season as he has light-tower power and a good contact rating but lacks eye. Ernie Berry was a little known prospect who exploded onto the scene in A ball flashing his amazing glove in CF combined with a decent bat. There were many others and really too many to list right here but these are the ones that bear watching in the future along with Ken Byrne, another power hitting CF.

2016: In 2016 we went 60-84, still bad but not nearly as bad as could have been expected. White made the jump to the ML sqaud in just his second year of professional ball and he crushed it, batting .270 with 24 hr's and 90 rbi's in the 3 hole. unfortunately his eye was a major weakness as he struck out 195 times, a true feast or famine player he still got consideration for the ROY and helped the offense. Braun was bounced up and down for most of the year as he would dominate at AAA and then get rocked in the USOB, a learning experience for him for sure but he still is very highly thought of by the organization and will be in the rotation next year, Byrne and Berry, were called up in june to bolster the OF production and both did just that with Berry hitting .248 with 13 dingers and 28 sb's and Byrne going .264 with 15 homers and 74 ribbie's. Overall a good year for our youngsters and it was a deep draft class where we were able to add a stud SS in Lorne Abbott and a couple good arms for the pen in Johnny Williams and Chris Douglas.

Up next the 2016 offseason and 2017 season
