OOTP puts up a warning if you have too few or too many players so I would expect that FHM will do the same thing.

It does for your own team ....
But there's been a few crashes at specific dates people have been able to get past because a team somewhere didn't have enough players/goalies etc ... commish mode, edit a player, give them a contract, assign current team blah blah
