NLCS - Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies



Game 1 - Colorado Wins 5-2
Game 1 between the Rockies and Phillies was a pitchers duel early as the Phillies were up 2-1 in the 7th when they put in RP Rauldison Rodriguez to pitch. The results were not what they wanted as he gave up 2 home runs in the inning, a 2 run home run to 3B Rosell Herrera and a solo shot to 1B Anthony Rizzo to put the Rockies up 4-2. CF Mike Trout added a solo shot in the 8th to make the final score 5-2.

Game 2 - Colorado Wins 5-2
The Rockies jumped out early in this game with a 3 run 2nd inning and also added 2 more in the 5th, all runs came off former Rockies pitcher Ryan Verdugo. SP Travis O'Bryan for the Rockies pitched well going 7 innings and giving up 2 runs on 4 hits.

Game 3 - Philadelphia wins 7-3
Game 3 brought the series to Philadelphia where the Phillies took advantage of rookie SP Claudio Peterson and the home field advantage. They chased peterson in just 2.1 innings after scoring 7 runs on 6 hits. The Rockies bullpen gave up just 2 hits the rest of the way but it wasn't enough as the only offense the Rockies could get was a 3 run home run by RF Glenn Mackie in the 9th inning.

Game 4 - Colorado Wins 4-3
Game 4 of the series saw a pitching duel through the first 5 innings until the Phillies finally got to Rockies SP Jose Fernandez in the 6th with 3 runs in the inning but the Rockies were able to come right back and score 2 in the 7th and 1 more in the 8th to tie the game and sent it to extra innings. Nothing happened in the 10th but the Rockies RF Glenn Mackie led off the 11th with a solo home run and Jose Suarez was able to pitch a perfect 11th to put the Rockies up 3 games to 1.

Game 5 - Philadelphia Wins 3-2
Game 6 saw SP Bryant Reed and SP Shelby Miller face off and both pitched well each going 7 innings and giving up 2 runs. The Bullpens made the difference in this one as the Phillies relievers were solid giving up just 2 hits. Rockies RP Rex Brothers gave up just 1 hit but it was a run scoring double that turned out to be the difference in the game.

Game 6 - Colorado Wins 4-2
Game 6 sent the series back to Colorado where the Rockies were up 2-1 going into the 9th but were unable to put the Phillies away as they were able to score one and tie it at 2. The tie didn't last long though as with 1 on and nobody out in the bottom of the 9th the Rockies superstar offseason acquisition CF Mike Trout blasted a 2 run HR off Addison Reed to send the Rockies back to the World Series where they will face the Minnesota Twins.
