Trading increases in December
There were a number of trades in the early part of December as teams started looking at their needs for next year. Five deals have been finalized so far and I hated to see These two as the care bears (AKA my nickname for the Kodiaks) dont need anymore young pitching, that being said I will not miss Sanders bat.
Sanders is a consistent 5+ war OF and he will continue to be so in Gettysburg but Cecil Wallace has absolute Ace potential and if you look at his FIP, which was a full run lower than his ERA and you begin to wonder if he wasn't an ace already just having some bad breaks. At 22 he has plenty of time to figure it out, But personally I hope he never does lol.
The Care Bears were not done as they then flipped under-performing starter Thomas Lewis to the Winnipeg Warhawks for a solid young SS in Sadeo Shimada. The spot Lewis held will most likely go to Wallace next year making him expendable and Shimada is younger and has great value as a starting SS or utility man. Lewis had a stellar rookie year in Birmingham in 2012 but has never quite put it all together in Minneapolis.
