MARINERS AT YANKEES
Gio Gonzalez (7 IP, 6 H, 0 R/ER, 0 BB, 6 SO) led the Yankees to a 7-0 win over the Mariners. Gonzalez combined with Steve Chisek and David Robertson for the shutout. Jesus Montero had 3 hits (1 2B, 1 HR) for the Yankees. Mariners P Brandon Morrow took a pounding--4 IP, 9 H, 6 R/ER, 1 BB, 1 SO. The Yankees lead the series, 2-1.
TIGERS AT RAYS
Wil Myers had 3 hits, to help lead the Rays to a 5-4,
inning win over the Tigers. The Rays loaded the bases in the bottom of the 14th and got a walkoff walk by Robert Phillips. Chris Davis homered for the Rays. Rays P Matt Moore had a good outing--7 IP, 6 H, 3 R/ER, 7 BB, 6 SO. Andy Dirks had 3 hits (1 2B, 1 BB), Alex Avila reached base safely 4 times (2 H, 1 2B, 2 BB) and Aaron Hill was 0 for 6 for the Tigers. The Rays swept the series, 3-0.
