TYCOBBIAN RACES GO INTO SEPTEMBER
Over in the western part of Islandia in the Tycobbian North, the North Hills Hawks, the defending Pro Cup champion, seem to be safe with a 5-game margin over the Mahaska, although the Haymakers narrowed the gap in August with a fine 18-10 record to 15-13 for the Hawks.
Down in the TU South Turon is getting ready to wrap up its second straight flag with an eight-game lead over San Alejo... the Typhoons improved their lead with an 18-10 August to the Montaneros' 16-12.
But it's close in the other two divisions... Midway really has a battle on its hands with four teams within striking distance of first place... East Point is just one game behind, Tuckanarra, last year's division winner, is just two games off the pace... Ozarka is not out of it yet, trailing by just three games... preseason favorite Red Bluff has recovered from a slow start and gotten back in the race, now five games in back of Midway... the Wolves were 15-13 for the last month, East Point was 19-9, Tuckanarra 17-11, Ozarka went 16-12 and Red Bluff was a torrid 20-8.
It's just a two-team affair in the Tycobbian West this season... Kenwood rebounded from a bad July to take a one-game lead over Arlon... the Wildcats had to go 19-9 in August to overtake the Champions, who were 15-13.
