SEPTEMBER STRETCH DRIVE CONTINUES
As expected, four clubs have qualified for the Pro Cup playoffs... it will be the Far Mountain Redhawks representing the Ruthlandian North and the Waleska Westerners the RU South... going into the last three games of the season the RU East and West are still very much in doubt... Sugar Valley and Cold Creek are tied for the lead in the East race and Sligo and Volusia are both on top of the West... in what should be two very tough series, the Rattlers (92-59) will take on the St. John Crusaders (81-70) on the road and the Catamounts (92-59) go up against Far Mountain (87-64) at home... the Volusia Vigilantes and Sligo Rovers will have easier tasks... the V's (85-56) will be out of town against Forest City (68-83) and the Rovers (85-56) will travel to Ancona (76-75).
The pennant winners in the Tycobbian Union were the defending Pro Cup holder North Hills, who has cinched a sixth straight North Division title, and Turon, the champion in the South Division... four clubs are in a battle royal for the TU East title... Tuckanarra and East Point are in first place, one game ahead of Midway and two in front of Ozarka... the Blue Jays (81-70) will be in Hartsdale (79-72) for the final series of the campaign, the Panthers (81-70) tangle with Kenwood (92-59) on the road, the Wolves (80-71) will be entertained by Bayview (77-74) and the Naturals (79-72) will be in White River against the Rascals (77-74)... Arlon (94-57) has a two-game edge over Kenwood in the TU West and will host Denton City (77-74), while the Wildcats (92-59) will be at home against East Point (81-70).
