NLCS - Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves

Game 1 - Atlanta wins 8-2
The Atlanta Braves came into Colorado as the Underdogs but they didn't look the part in game 1 as they jumped all over SP Bryant Reed for the Rockies chasing him after just 3 innings and scoring 7 runs off the Cy Young winner last season. The Rockies bullpen came in and did well just giving up 1 run the rest of the way but the Rockies could not get to the Braves pitching as they managed to score just 2 runs.

Game 2 - Colorado wins 5-4 (10 innings)
The first half of Game 2 was a pitchers duel as neither team could get on the board. In the 6th inning both teams got 1 run each and the Braves would add 2 more in the 7th. Going into the bottom of the 9th the Rockies were still down 3-1. Closer Craig Kimbrel quickly got Rick Clark and pinch hitting Troy Tulowitki out to get the Rockies to their last out. 2B Jose Valdes was able to draw a walk though before SS Steve Wallace, down to his last strike at 0-2 smashed a 2 run Home Run to tie the game and send the game to extras. The Braves got a 2 out HR from Jamie Frew in the top of the 10th to put them back on top 4-3. In a surprising move the Braves left Craig Kimbrel out in the 10th and his tiredness showed as he gave up a single and issued 2 walks to quickly load the bases before he walked in the tying run. The Braves finally pulled Kimbrel but the damage had been done. Thomas Keeling was able to strike out Rick Clark but Rockies closer Antonio Baez came to bat and hit a game winning sac fly to tie the series at 1.

Game 3 - Colorado wins 6-4
The Rockies jumped out to an early lead and held on for the ride as they were up 6-1 after the 4th inning. A late rally though by the Braves as they scored 3 in the 7th and 8th as they tried to fight back. Closer Antonio Baez was able to come on in the 9th though and give up just one hit but shut down all others to give the Rockies a 2-1 lead in the series.

Game 4 - Atlanta wins 5-3
The Braves 2nd game at home in this series seemed much more comfortable as they got to Evan Anderson early as they scored 2 in the 2nd inning and 3 more in the 4th sending Anderson to the showers. The Rockies bullpen pitched well from there but again just like in game 1 Braves SP Trey Ball quieted the Rockies bats giving up 2 runs and 1 of them earned and even hitting a Home Run himself to help his team tie the series at 2.

Game 5 - Colorado wins 4-1
Game 5 was one more home game for the Braves and it was a pitchers duel early. The Rockies were able to get 1 run in the first before the Braves tied it in the 6th inning. Rockies SP Willie Calhoun pitched a great 7.2 innings and added a 1-3 night with an RBI single as well. The Rockies take the series lead 3-2 with a chance to advance to the World Series in front of their home crowd.

Game 6 - Colorado wins 7-2
The Rockies played well in game 6 as they were up 4-0 after the 4th inning. Rockies SP Bryant Reed had a much better game this time around as he pitched 8 innings and gave up just 1 run on 4 hits and 3 BB. The Rockies offense got a 2 run home run from CF Mike Trout and 2 home runs from RF Rick Clark to put away the Braves and advance to the World Series where they will face the Houston Astros who have swept both the Yankees and the Mariners and are a very hot team heading into the Series.
