I agree 100% -- a simple
"Are you sure" dialog would be sufficient for this. Are you sure you want to replace Player X with Player Y? OK/Cancel

I agree, that would be fun. Along those lines, here are some scenarios that have happened to me and generated no mention at all in the next day's news:
- player reached base in all 6 plate appearances, all walks.
- player had 7+ RBI.
- player his two grand slams.
- team scored 20+ runs.
- game went 18+ innings.
I propose that more things like the above merit news articles such as the 3 HR and 5 hit news stories.

This already exists in the iPad version, so I think it is a screen size issue.

This would make trading for impact players a lot easier, e.g. if I'm looking for a power bat I could look for the top ten players by slugging percentage. (You can also do this by looking at Active Players, Batting Stats view, and sorting by SLG or OPS, but then you have to do some extra work, since the list is often dominated by players with a statistically insignificant number of plate appearances, like a relief pitcher who happens to double in his only AB all season.
Of course, doing this will show you the
full list of major league HR leaders (or any other stat) but would not help if you care which league they're in.

Hmmmm, I actually find this behavior you're complaining about useful, as it makes it easier to go back where I left off as I was looking for a player to acquire. As a compromise, I suggest
adding a "Return to Top of List" button -- e.g. the < button takes you to the previous page and the << button takes you to the first page.

YES! Something in between no guidance at all and giving complete control to the AI. I often find the draft to be a complete crapshoot and if the AI knows a trick I don't I'll consider my staff's suggestions.
