If you make yourself the commissioner you can edit his injury and have him healthy before the series starts and add him that way. If you don't want him to play a game or three because he should be still injured just set your game strategy to not use him (assuming you let the PC manage the game)
There's no way to add or replace a player mid-series, which is unfortunate.

You can put injured players on the roster only if they have no DL days left remaining and you can add him to playoff roster assuming he is eligible which he should be if he was on MLB DL or roster during August 31st September 1st.
