Mallard News
7/10: Marc Callahan (A – Moreno Valley) was suspended for 5 games for a bench clearing brawl.
7/12: Miguel Ruiz is continuing to look for a contract to extend his stay in Madison. His current starting point is 3 years at $24 million, that is up significantly from his earlier request of $16.5 million. The dilemma is he is better than any of my other options. Defensively he is top notch.
7/12: Looking over next years contracts. G. Martinez will be in his last year of arbitration, with the possibility of Free Agency. He is looking for 3 years at $18.5 million per year. That is a tough number to swallow given my salary commitment are already at $110 million. It is a deal that I can do in 2013 for 2014 but not this year.
7/15: Mallards will receive Compensation picks in 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds as they did not sign draft picks from those rounds.
7/15 – North Berwick remains number one in the power rankings in AA (134.5) with a record of 59-23
