That's a 1960 Harry Chiti in the Topps Vault picture, above. Note that he's wearing the (IMO abominable) script "Tigers" home uniform, which was worn in 1960 only, rather than the traditional Olde English "D". 1960 was the year the Tigers changed the script "Detroit' on the road uniforms for block-print, and so decided that maybe the home uniforms should have script, instead.
As I must have written before, this was about as good an idea as firing Ernie Harwell would prove to be, 31 years later, and was likewise remedied by the next season. (Ironically, 1960 was Ernie's first season with the club, coming over from Baltimore.) Also, Chiti played far more for the Tigers in 1960, after coming over from Kansas City in late July, than in 1961, when he spent almost the whole season farmed out to Denver.
