SD'S PATE RU TOP MANAGER
In a poll conducted by The Islandian Times, Wesley Pate of San Dimas just barely nipped Slick Hammill of Belle Plaine for the Ruthlandian Union Manager of the Year. Not too far behind in third place was the only other votegetter, Ricky Tinker of Middlefield. This was the first time Pate has won the best manager award.
RU Manager of the Year:
1. Wesley Pate (San Dimas): Pate piloted the Rancheros to their first pennant in 10 years... the club improved dramatically from fifth place to the top spot in the RU South, rising up from 76-78 to 92-62... last season San Dimas was 18 games off the pace of champion Waleska... this year they skimmed by the Westerners by one game.
2. Slick Hammill (Belle Plaine): Hammill guided the Musketeers from seventh place to the runner-up spot behind powerful Cold Creek in the RU East... they lost out by three games, but improved immensely from 68-86 to 83-71... in 2040 the Muskies ended up 33 games out of first place... this year Cold Creek beat them by just three games.
3. Ricky Tinker (Middlefield): the Roosters rose up from fifth place to the RU West Division crown, climbing from 76-78 to 90-64.
