TOP IPA SKIPPERS ANNOUNCED FOR 2042
Two long-time skippers finally hauled in their first Manager of the Year trophies. Both winners have been at the helm for 41 years, the teams' complete history. No one else has ever managed either club. Matt Donnelly of Wynnamac and Charley Oscar of Southport were acclaimed the 2042 Managers of the Year. Donnelly was named the Ruthlandian skipper of the year and Oscar picked up the Tycobbian trophy.

Ruthlandian Union Manager of the Year:
1. Matt Donnelly (Wynnamac):
Donnelly took the Sundowners from worst-to-first this season, going from 64-90 and 22 GB to the top spot in the RU East with an 89-65 mark... it was the first pennant for Wynnamac since 2030... in his career Donnelly has won one Pro Cup (2008) and six division titles.

2. Ilya Szabo (Colfax):
the Blasters rose up from second and 3 GB to first place in the RU West... the team record went from 87-67 to 93-61, the best in the RU this year.

3. Rusty Denicola (Kilkenny):
For the first time in the team's history, the Cats made the playoffs this year, ending a 41-year drought... Kilkenny climbed up from third place and 13 GB to first place with a 92-62 record.

4. Joe DeLucca (Volusia):
Hall-of-Famer DeLucca won his first pennant in seven seasons at the head of the Vigilantes... the V's shot up from 72-82 and seventh place (18 GB) to 92-62 and a very close second to Colfax in the RU West, losing out by just one game.

Tycobbian Union Manager of the Year:
1. Charley Oscar (Southport):
the Sun Sox picked up its first TU South pennant since 2028... they rose up from 67-87 and seventh place (30 GB) to the top spot with a 100-54 record, the best in the IPA this season... they were favored to win the Pro Cup this year, but were eliminated in the first round by Hartsdale.

2. Jud Turchin (Hartsdale):
the Hellcats were vastly better this year... they were sixth and 17 GB in 2041 with a 78-76 record... in 2042 they were a sparkling 92-62 and upset perennial powerhouse North Hills in the TU North, thus snapping the Hawks' eight-season domination of the division... Hartsdale last won the pennant in 2029.

3. Jack Elliott (High Mesa):
the greatest player in IPA history is now making a name for himself as a novice manager... his Cowboys jumped from 71-83 and sixth place (16 GB) to a very close runner-up spot in the TU East... they wound up 84-70 and were beaten out by Kenwood by just a game.

4. Aaron Hankins (Kenwood)
Hankins kept his Wildcat on top in the TU West for the second year in a row... they improved from 90-65 to 94-60 this season... just barely beating out High Mesa by one game.
