TU STARS, RU STARS TANGLE IN ALL-STAR CLASSIC
The annual diamond classic known as the IPA All-Star Game is slated for this Wednesday afternoon in South Fork at Jock Ewing Stadium, the home of the defending Pro Cup champion. The Tycobbian Union All-Stars and Ruthlandian Union All-Stars have been selected in a vote conducted by The Islandian Times. Newspaper scribes, along with television and radio broadcasters were polled to determine the best of the best baseball players in the Islands. Three teams had three players each on the squads: Colfax and San Dimas of the Ruthlandian Union and Turon of the Tycobbian league.
Bayview slugger Jerry Culpepper was named for the 10th time in his career to the TU Stars... making his eighth appearance is Adam Thurgood of North Hills... this will be number seven for Corky DiNozzo of Kenwood, number five for Wayman Stetson of Denton City and Sogo Takagi of Ginza... and the fourth time for Jayson Hallstrom of Summerland.
For the Ruthlandian Stars Eastshore's Johnny Petrak and Sugar Valley's Bobby Gamble will be appearing for the eighth time in their careers... Chet Penn of Colfax is a seven-time participant... Claxton star Jojo DeLucca has been picked six times... and Nicky Farrugia of St. John and Cannon Johnson of Elnora are five-time selections.
