2043 IPA PRO CUP DIVISION SERIES - Game Five

Ruthlandian Union

VOLUSIA TROUNCES SV 9-3, WINS IN 5 GAMES
Number four-ranked Volusia didn't pay any attention to the Pro Cup rankings, they went out and beat second-rated Sugar Valley in five games to capture the Ruthlandian Division Series and advance to the RU League Championship Series against the eighth-ranked Valmara Vipers, who eliminated number five Crystal Lake in a four-game sweep.

The Vigilantes battered the Rattlers for 13 hits in a 9-3 rout in game five... and got decent mound work from Leandos Dizon (2-0/3.21) and reliever Skeeter Millham... Dizon allowed three runs on six hits in his seven innings for the win... Millham blanked them the final two frames... in another ineffective outing Jeremy Blanchard )-2/7.71) lost it... he was pounded for five runs and 10 hits in seven innings.

Volusia was led at the plate by C Tank Tarkanian (.350) and CF Cazzie Carvalho (.273), who slammed three-run homers and by 1B Kris Wilson (.286), who had three hits and drove in a pair of runs... Sugar Valley's best bats were LF Bobby Gamble (.278) and C Delmer Campbell (.150)... Gamble got a two-run homer and Campbell hit a singleton.

ARLON TRIMS SF 8-5 IN 11, TRAILS 3-2 IN SERIES
In game five of the TU Division Series at South Fork, the Arlon Champions had their hitting shoes on for the second day in a row as they stung the Stallions 8-5 in 11 innings to get back in the series, cutting South Fork's lead to three games to two... Gilberto Cabral powered a three-run homer to win it... Mark Cameron had a three-run clout in the first for the Champs.

In all, Arlon collected 13 hits with SS Cabral (.200) having three of them... and RF Cameron (.263), LF Charlie Hastings (.364), C Nick Shafer (.318) and 2B Genji Kurashima (.143) all got two hits apiece... South Fork got 8 hits with LF Maury Yates (.364) leading the way with two hits and scoring three runs... 1B Paul Sexton (.211) swatted a two-run homer and Yates hit a one-run blast.

Reliever Danny May (1-0) chalked up the victory... he permitted a run and three hits in his two innings... the loser was Gary Golden (0-1), who was shellacked for four runs in one and two-thirds innings.
