2043 IPA Pro Cup Final Series - Game Four
HAWKS ROAR BACK, MICHAEL BLANKS VIPERS 5-0
After three blowout games, strong pitching finally prevailed in the fourth game of the Pro Cup Finals... North Hills' David Michael (4-1/2.16) redeemed himself for a very poor showing in game one with a 5-0 shutout over the Valmara Vipers... He fired a four-hitter to even the best-of-seven series at two games each... the Vipers' Teddy Twardzik (5-1/3.12) fell in defeat for the first time this year's playoffs... the Hawks hammered him for five runs and 10 hits in his eight innings... Twardzik won the series' opener 8-2.
The Hawks teed off of Twardzik for five runs in the first three innings, sparked by LF Adam Thurgood (.296) and SS Tommy Vavas (.259) with two hits and two RBIs each... Thurgood got his third postseason roundtripper in the first, a two-run shot.
