Swinging his way into the record books, George Foster reached the 300 homer mark today at Riverfront Stadium against the Atlanta Braves. He went 3-4 with 1 RBI and 2 runs on the day, although Cincinnati would go down to defeat 9-6.

"It was a distraction," Foster said of his 300th home run, "I'm happy it's over. I just wish I'd been able to make a difference in the outcome today." Foster has registered a career batting average of .278 with 1606 hits, 300 homers and 1073 RBIs.
