July - University of Virginia - Virgo is the University of Virginia Library's collection of all the old news footage from Channel 10 in Salem, WSLS-TV, from 1951 through 1971. That link is to July, 1969 but the full range of years is easily reached from that page.

There is an awful lot of minor league baseball in there, beautifully preserved and digitized and easily accessed. These are quick screen caps after a perfunctory look at the intuitively arranged menu. They interviewed not just members of the local affiliate (Pirates) but also visitors, leading to some unexpected appearances.

Just thumbing through the indices I've seen names like Jim McKee and John Lamb (and, for you fans of guys who never made it despite multiple years on the 40-man, players like Dick Hendrix and Luther Quinn).

By the way: the film (and there is some game action too) all comes with PDFs of the accompanying scripts!

Below: Future Pirates Dave Cash and Lou Marone, and future Padre Ron Slocum of the 1968 Salem Rebels, and the manager of the visiting 1967 Marion Mets -- Birdie Tebbetts - along with the team's farm director, Whitey Herzog:
Some great stuff in here..... Thank you so much
