In its IPA history the Sligo Rovers have appeared 9 times in the postseason and have won one Pro Cup in 2021... in the last three years the Rovers have finished fourth twice... 17 GB in 2042 and 16 GB in 2043... both year they compiled 76-78 records... this year they plunged badly to 61-93 and came in last, trailing by 24 games... basically, Sligo didn't hit or pitch very well.
Randall Steele (16-17/3.90), Buzz Bumgartner (13-13/3.60) and Tom Pierson (12-18/3.87) were the most reliable starters... the Rovers sorely missed ace Scotty Price (3-3/2.88), who suffered a torn rotator cuff in May and will be out until mid-season next year... the only decent bats in the lineup were vets 1B Denny Simmons (.298/14/59/88) and SS Neil Mitchell (.285/16/74/93).
