2044 IPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - Game 2

CRYSTAL LAKE MAULS WYNNAMAC 12-3 IN GAME 2
For the second game in a row Crystal Lake demolished favored Wynnamac in the Ruthlandian LCS... the Crushers rocked them for 14 hits and mauled the Sundowners 12-3 in game two of the best-of-seven series... Jed Murphee (.222) paced the winners with 3 RBIs... Paul Dillon (.273), Johnny Kennedy (.375) and Ken Lawson (.250) also helped the cause with 2 RBIs each... Lawson (2-0/1.88) was the winning pitcher... he went the distance and held Wynnamac to 3 runs on 6 hits, striking out 4 and walking 6... Sammy Hayes (2-1/3.38) took it on the chin, surrendering 7 runs in 5-plus innings... it was 7-0 by the time he made his exit.

Not only did Wynnamac suffered it second straight loss, it's star slugger Nioka Inkamara hurt his hamstring and will miss about a week of games... Inkamara hit .321 with 40 homers and 131 RBIs to lead the Sundowners this year.

SWANSON SPINS SHUTOUT, STOPS RED SOX 5-0
25-game winner Johnny Swanson fired a 5-0 shutout, stopping Red Bluff on just 3 hits... it was the third shutout in a row for the Southport Sun Sox in the playoffs, the second one in the Tycobbian League Championship Series... Swanson (1-0/1.53) fanned 5 and walked only one in the second game of the series... Gonzalo Topez (.524) led the hitters with 3-for-3 and 3 runs scored... Mickey Rosen (2-1/1.44) lost for the first time in the postseason... he gave up 5 runs and 9 hits in 7 innings... only 3 of the runs were earned.
