Catcher Mike Sandlock recently became the oldest living major leaguer.
He played for the Dodgers, Braves and Pirates between 1942 and 1953.
He's pictured here as a Phillie in 1954, but he failed to make that team out
of spring training and played all that season at the Phils' AAA affiliate
before retiring. He also had a Topps 1954 baseball card made of him
picturing him as a Phillie, but he never played for that team.
A lifelong Connecticut resident, Sandlock is now about 98 years, 7 months
old. Photos of Wyrostek, Jones, Clark and Sandlock in sections
21458-21461 are all from the 1954 Philadelphia Phillies yearbook.
