The ABC Player of the Week honors went to Jets' starter
Pat Rehberg, who pitched a 3 hit shutout in the Jets 3-0 win over the Colts. Rehberg walked one and struck out one while winning just his 2nd game of the year.
Rodney Hiseler and
Jeremy Dempsey each drove in runs for the Jets.
Scott Young of the Cardinals won the NBC Player of the Week for the Cardinals, with a 3 hit shutout of his own as the as the Cardinals remained unbeaten with a 2-0 win over the Cowboys. Young was 2-3 at the plate with a triple, RBI, and run scored, taking the game into his own hands.
The Jaguars bats were on full display today with
Ned Hanlon homering, singling 3 times, and driving in 3 runs.
Fred Dunlap and
Dave Cartwright added 3 hits, while ever Jaguar in the lineup had at least one hit.
The Eagles have a new starter, 26 year old
Sean Lack, but things haven't been going too well for Lack. In two starts Lack lasted just 14 innings while giving up 11 earned runs.
The Raiders and Patriots completed a trade with the Patriots receiving 27 year old 1B/RF
Matt Patterson (.333, 6-18) with shortstop
Joe Farrell (.231, 3-13) and minor pitcher
Joe Tumminello going to Oakland.
One name to keep an eye on is
TJ Wolfe of the Miami Hurricanes. The freshman starter pitched a complete game six hit shutout as the Hurricanes beat Florida State 9-0. The youngster improved to 3-2 on the season with a 2.36 ERA.
