Thanks to Braves 70 and the cats pajamas for those photos of Dick Manville. - Really great stuff guys. I liked the '52 Topps style card a lot, but really all the photos were great.
Funny thing about Manville is that he is so obscure that he wasn't added to the Wikipedia 100 Oldest living MLB players list when he should have been. About a month later some Wikipedia editor or contributor spotted the omission and corrected the error, adding Manville to the list and knocking the guy who had been ranked # 100 off the list. Manville shares a Christmas Day, 1925 birthday with Ned Garver and the two are tied for 96th oldest on the Wikipedia list at this time.
Yankees 1B - Hank Workman now ranks at #100, and Cubs and Dodgers 3B Randy Jackson was displaced from the regular list and knocked back to the supplementary list at #101. (The supplementary list starts at #101 and goes as high as the number of players the Wikipedia editors care to share with the public - usually it tops out at anywhere between 105 and 115). Currently, the youngest and last player on the supplementary list at #113 is Phillies RHP Bob Miller.
