Jeff Samardzija followed up his opening day shutout with seven innings of work and he gave up just three earned runs on three hits while striking out seven to pick up the win. Atlanta ace Julio Teheran struggled against the Cubs lineup, particularly Anthony Rizzo. Rizzo went 3-4 with a three-run home run and a RBI double on a four-RBI day.
