Richard Haines

Outfielder, Richard Haines was a perennial prospect
in the Phillies farm system through the late 1950s and
early '60s. Like Joe Cherry and Leonard Clendenin
(pictured above) he never quite made it to the majors,
despite being one of the team's most prized prospects.
The closest the Jersey City, NJ high school star got to
the big leagues was having his photo and bio placed
in the Top Prospects section of the 1959 and 1962
Phillies Yearbooks.
