But the template keeps reloading from the saved point in the game that the template came from. How do I start a game from a in game saved template without starting from that point in the game?

1. Remember that when saving a template, it saves the date and will start with that date and it can't be changed......You don't need to delete anything at this point unless you want to.
2. Simply create a new 1 team template and set the year you want your original template to start. Starting date will always be Jan. 1. If you want a different date then you have to sim forward before you do step 3.
3. Now add your original template to the 1 team template and save it.
The start date will now be Jan. 1
4. Start a new game with the template you just saved. Now you can delete that fake 1 team and anything else you want. When done save it and you'll have your original template setup with a new start date rather than the stating date of your old template.
Hope this makes sense...it's exactly how I got my 2013 NCAA to start in Feb. and the MLB to start in March.

FWIW: The first template you load will determine the date your game will start at and override the remaining templates. (It has no effect on the leagues opening day dates. They will start as determined by their schedule or the schedule options you set in each template).
