THE NEGRO BASEBALL LEAGUES: A PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY, by Phil Dixon, has a photo of William "Sonny" Randall along with two other players. The photo caption says that the three of them "had been members of the Homestead Grays before being drafted and joining the Great Lakes Naval Varsity in 1944." The attached photo shows William "Sonny" Randall in a Great Lakes Naval team uniform in the act of sliding into a base.
