Frank Forbes
Frank Lindsay (or Lindsey) Forbes was a SS/3B/OF who played with the Philadelphia Giants, Lincoln Stars, Lincoln Giants, Royal Poinciana Hotel, Pennsylvania Red Caps, and Bacharach Giants during the 1913-19 period. His nicknames were Joe and Strangler. Later on, he was an umpire, then a business manager for the New York Cubans, and a promoter for the Negro National League. The Baseball Register in THE NEGRO LEAGUES BOOK, edited by Dick Clark and Larry Lester lists Joe Forbes and Frank Forbes as two different people, but I've concluded that were both the same fellow based on newspaper reports which indicate that the older man who was a promoter for the Negro Leagues was a former Negro League ballplayer and by websites which give the nickname Joe for Frank Lindsay Forbes.
