3 service years of automatic resign
3 years of arbitration

The only exception is Super 2 status (only after your 2nd season)
Out of the Park Baseball Manual

If a guy has 5 years + of service but won't hit 6 full years before the season is over (i.e. he was called up midway through the season in his rookie year e.g.) he will still go to arbitration.
