06/28/1985 - Gullickson's Streak Is Over

Seattle ace Bill Gullickson was on a roll and took an 11-0 record into his start against Cleveland. Going back to last season, Gullickson was on a 16-game win streak and a 20-game undefeated streak. Well, the Indians and starter Mark Gubicza ended the streak by defeating the Mariners 7-3. Gubicza went the distance giving up 3 run on 9 hits to raise his record to 8-7. Gene Richards led the offense for Cleveland going 3/5 including a triple and a homer, knocking in 3 runs, and scoring 2.
