ONLY 3 RACES IN IPA DOWN THE STRETCH
With only 18 games remaining on the schedule, most of the pennant races in the Islandian Pro Alliance have fairly much been decided... preseason pick Valmara is 17 games ahead of Ranford in the Ruthlandian North, Middlefield is up by 13 over last year's champ and this year's choice Forest City in the Ruthlandian West and favored Sugar Valley leads Belle Plaine by 8 in the Ruthlandian East... the Rattlers are tryng to repeat... the only September stretch drive of any note is in the Ruthlandian South where defending division champ Claxton has a 3-game advantage over Valka and a 4-game margin over preseason favorite Waleska.
In the Tycobbian Union only San Alejo seems to have wrapped up the division flag... the Montaneros have a 13-game bulge over the Southport Sun Sox... the Tycobbian West will go down-to-the-wire... Denton City is just one game in front of last year's division winner and reigning Pro Cup champion Rolling Hills and the surprise club in the IPA this year, the Bay St.Clair Buccaneers, are just 3 off the pace and still in the hunt... it's not as close in the other two divisions... in the Tycobbian East Tuckanarra. last year's victor, is 4 games better than preseason pick Hillsboro and 6 up on Red Bluff... High Mesa and Midway are still in the chase mathematically, too, but have a tough row to hoe... and in the Tycobbian North White River should win... the Rascals go into September with a 6-game edge over Luxora.
