A fifth inning RBI single by Cletus Boyar broke a scoreless tie and gave the Titans a 1-0 lead. The Browns would battle back in the top of the sixth to tie the game though, when Pat O'Connell tripled and scored on a single by Jeff Corn.

The game would remain tied until the bottom of the seventh when Buck Ewing reached on an error, and Dan Brouthers delivered a two run homer to put the Titans up 3-1. It was Brouthers third home run this postseason.

Up by two runs Milt Foss finished up the Browns to advance to the World Championship Game. Foss would get the complete game win while holding the Browns to 1 run on 7 hits.
