Fifteen Runs Innings Caps Wild Second Tier Match.
Clapton Orient maintained their position two lengths within prospects for promotion with a decisive victory against the Bristol City club. The O’s were suffering an eleven runs to seven deficit going into the top of the eighth innings during which they scored fifteen to utterly smother the Robins. O’s put their first five batsmen on with singles and chased pitcher Rowley off the mound, but new pitcher Angus could not stop the bleeding either, and was replaced in the same innings by Steventon, who finally put the cap on the geyser. Orient made eleven base hits during the innings, including one two and one three, and drew five bases on balls as well. Rowley’s pitiful performance earned him the defeat, his tenth against six victories.
Orient are second in the Division, six lengths behind the leader Fulham, and two ahead of Blackpool and four ahead of Chelsea.
