I'll just discuss batters for now. Those splits seem quite normal to me. Most batters IRL have bigger splits.
See below for a comparison with RL players Eddie Murray and Albert Pujols. I realize that OOTP ratings are not an exact match for RL stats but the comparison is still useful. Take note that switch hitters have lower platoon splits in general but that doesn't apply to all skills.
