Man, does Lowery look ready to go hustle somebody on the golf course, or what? Peanuts was a legendary golf hustler; as Larry Merchant once wrote, one time he deliberately shot double-bogeys on the last two holes of a practice round, "because he was breaking the course record and there was no sense letting
that get out".
One of Lowery's fellow Cubs coaches, Mike Roarke, was originally a Tiger, and made his coaching debut with Detroit in 1965-1966. Also on that staff was Pat Mullin, who there was a bit of a search for as an Indians coach in 1967 in the main thread a while back, but we only ever had a B/W pic of him from his Tigers coaching stint (mid-'63 through '66). Until these recent Topps Vault releases, that is. (I retouched the lighting and color.)
Enjoy!
