1879 Cleveland Blues?
I did some newspaper searches on 1879, and found that the Cleveland team was consistently referred to as the Forest Citys. In fact, there was one article which reported a proposed new Amateur team called the Cleveland Blues, so that name clearly did not apply to the major league team in that year.
On the other hand, there was some blue material on the Cleveland professional uniform in 1879. The following was taken from The Cincinnati Enquirer of April 19, 1879, and describes the Cleveland uniform:
