Been noticing this too, and it's really tough to keep guys when they don't want to sign long term deals during their arbitration years and just want one year deals. So, when their arbitration is done they ask for 30mil contracts which are unheard of. And then when they get to free agency, I feel like teams compete with me no matter what, and then when I upping the price, the guy will sometimes sign for less than what he was asking me for, which is really strange.
Never had too much trouble with this in past versions, which is the weird thing. Usually guys would sign longer deals if i offered them 5mil or so more than they were asking for, but now it's one year deals and then monster deal when free agency hits.
