IPA First All-Decade Team 2001-2010

SP CODY BURG (2001-2021)
Cape Coral's fireballin' Cody Burg also was named to the first decade's IPA All-Decade Team... the hard-throwing right-hander is the all-time strikeout leader and is number two in wins... Burg hurled for the Hurricanes for 21 seasons, retiring at age 39 with 369 victories, 5250 Ks and a career 2.79 ERA... 14 times he led the league in strikeouts... he was an 8-time All-Star and won three Tycobbian Golden Arms (2004, 2005, 2014)... also took the TU Most Valuable Player Award in 2014... Burg was outstanding the playoffs, too, posting a 9-2 record in 15 starts with a superb 1.54 ERA... four times in the decade Cape Coral made the postseason, but didn't win a Pro Cup... twice they were eliminated in tight series with the eventual IPA champion Turon Typhoons, one of the most powerful dynasty in the league's history.... Turon captured four Pro Cups from 2003 to 2018 and made the Finals five times... Burg was installed into the IPA Hall of Fame in 2027.
