Ya, when I said that every once in a while you'll see a 19 year old high schooler in the draft, I meant that he JUST turned 19 right before the draft, and most likely was still 18 while he was in high school. High school ends in May. Draft is in June. So, there are 18 year olds here and there that between their last game and the mlb draft who turn 19. And it has nothing to do with being held back. If you get held back, you can't play sports. There is no redshirting in high school lol.

But ya as for 20+ year olds. Even if a school had a 20+ year old high schooler, or even allowed one (there are adult schools for 20+ kids who haven't completed high school yet) to attend, they definitely wouldn't be eligible to play high school sports.
