Of course there is. Just don't create a feeder league.

I play stats-only with star ratings left on (with the AI Eval set to HEAVILY favor stats), and no feeders. I use potential rating combined with tools to draft off of, though I usually only draft the first 10 rounds or so before letting the computer take over.
