Hey guys

I have a question with the waiver system pre-July 31st

I know that when team a places a player on waivers before July 31st, any team in their respective league has priority but would this scenario technically be legal?

Team a places P Tim Hudson on waivers in May

Team b and team c both make a claim with team b winning since it has the worse record

Team a then makes a deal with team c before the claim is official so team b doesn't get the player

My issue is isn't the player technically untradeable by team a while on waivers or is that null?

Any help in this matter is highly appreciated
