Yeah I get that sometimes. It's why I save everything as a template before I start a new game.

I got it a bunch in OOTP15 most every time the save had a odd number at the end. It was weird. In OOTP16 I get it much less and usually after I've been fiddling with settings for a long time.

Save your setup as a template before you start the game. If it fails to start reopen OOTP - reopen the template - hit start game and it will work.

On another note I could never find the auto save folder to delete the broken saves.
